The Elder Nutrition Program (ENP) is a community nutrition services program for older adults administered by BayPath Elder Services, Inc. The Elder Nutrition Program at BayPath is one of 26 nutrition programs throughout the state of Massachusetts. These programs collectively serve over 8.5 million meals to seniors each year.
Nutrition services help to address a number of challenges faced by seniors, including poor diets, health problems, food insecurity, and loneliness. Nourishing meals, as well as nutrition screening, assessment, education, and counseling help to ensure that older adults attain and maintain optimal nutritional status.
At this time, BayPath will continue to provide services, but please note: As of March 18, our staff began operating remotely, with the office being staffed by a few individuals daily. BayPath Elder Services is in close contact with the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, the Department of Public Health, and other state and local agencies regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. We are following their guidance as well as the CDC recommended best practices.
As such, BayPath's Meals on Wheels (MOW) delivery is running on a Tuesday and Friday schedule providing three meals on each delivery day so that our consumers are covered for the days in between deliveries. BayPath is also delivering shelf-stable groceries and groceries from our emergency food pantry as needed. The Nutrition Program is taking new referrals for individuals 60 years old and older, who are homebound. To inquire about eligibility, call our main number 508-573-7200.
Our priority is to ensure the health and wellness of our staff and consumers during this difficult time.
